We stayed at Del Garda Village and Camping in Peschiera del Garda during our family road trip around Italy. We were travelling as a family of five and stayed in a Clivia Medium mobile home.

Overall, we spent a fair amount of time on the campsite (and more than we had planned), the kids loved getting involved in all the activities and the pools were fab so it was easy to stay in them! Del Garda Village was a pretty perfect location, it is walking distance to Peschiera del Garda, the lake and so many activities! We would recommend this place as a great location for exploring Lake Garda and in particular for anyone that has kids age 12 and below.

Lake Garda itself has so much to do, here’s the link to our seven day itinerary

Where is Del Garda Village and Camping?

Del Garda Village and Camping is in Peschiera del Garda at the southern end of Lake Garda, which makes it a very convenient base for both exploring the lake and visiting Gardaland, Movieland and Canvea world.

Peschiera is less than 1km from the campsite and a pretty straight forward walk with kids.

The campsite has an exit close to the Lake Garda as well and it took approx. five minutes walk.

Our Cabin – What did we book?

We booked this direct with the campsite. The Clivia Medium is 34 square metres and sleeps up to four adults and one child. It has two bedrooms, consisting of a double room and a second bedroom with two single beds plus a raised children’s bed. This made it perfect for a family of four or five. There are also surprisingly two bathrooms with showers, which was pretty handy.

The living area has a sofa, a TV and a kitchen equipped with crockery, a hob, fridge and separate freezer. Outside there is a furnished patio for eating and two sun loungers, all are plastic but were perfectly adequate and comfortable. There is no BBQ provided, but you can use a charcoal BBQ on this site (available for hire, but we took a camping one).

The accommodation had air-con, with an allowance included of 12 hours per day. We did not go over this, but if you did it was €1 per additional hour which if you kept it on the whole time during your stay would still only costs €84 extra.

Overall, the accommodation felt pretty new, well maintained, and very clean. We thought the size was great, as always a bit more storage could have been helpful, but overall, one of the better cabins we have had!

  • Was it big enough for five of you? Yes
  • Were the beds comfortable? Yes
  • Was there enough storage? Just about
  • How good was the kitchen? Good, no oven or BBQ, but no complaints.
  • How clean was it? Very
  • How did you find the 12-hour air-con allowance? We did not go over the allowance, we turned it off in the day and had this on at night.
  • Where did you park in relation to the mobile home? About 30/40metres away

Swimming pools

Del Garda has two separate pool areas. Each pool complex has a larger pool and a children’s pool. The two shallow children’s pools have slides and you can use lilos and inflatables in these. You could use balls in all pools (win!).

There is also a poolside bar at one of the pool areas, serving food and drinks during pool opening hours.

The main pool area was pretty busy and if you arrived in the afternoon you struggled to get a sun bed, so if you want one, it is best to arrive early. A few times we just put our stuff down somewhere without a lounger, which was not a problem for us. At this pool there were 3 slides, which the kids loved, they didn’t really have queues and so the kids just went up and down… a lot. The slides did drop into quite shallow water, so great for younger kids but not so good for adults. The music and pool entertainment is based here.

The second pool area, was much, much quieter, we got a lounger on every occasion we visited, regardless of time. This pool felt very relaxed, there is no music or entertainment here. There is one slide, but it is wide and seriously fun.

All pools were a good temperature and we did not feel cold, we visited in Aug 2026.

Things to do for children – Activities on-site

On site there are; lots of small playgrounds dotted round, a small arcade, dedicated football, basketball and tennis courts. As well as beach volleyball and bike hire.

Between roughly mid-May and mid-September, the campsite runs an entertainment programme with a mini club, sports tournaments, pool games and evening entertainment including shows and live music.

Our son loved the daily football tournaments, these were well organised and good fun. The atmosphere on the pitch was great and my young son had no trouble joining in at any time of the day. There was also a daily tennis club, which they did one morning, it was less of coaching and more games.

My oldest and youngest kids also did the treasure hunt (free) at the kids club and the T-shirt making (which was €10 each) but well worth it. My middle child was still on the football pitch!

The evening entertainment started at 20:30, which felt late but the kids loved it and were desperate to go most nights. We sometimes sat at the bar while they were over at the entertainment.

Food, restaurants and supermarket

There is a restaurant serving Italian and international food, a pizzeria with takeaway available, a main bar, poolside bar and ice-cream kiosk.

There is also an on-site supermarket selling fresh and frozen food, fruit, vegetables and household essentials.

We did not eat at the restaurant but we had takeaway pizza one evening and ate them at the cabin. This cost €30.50 for three pizzas.

What is there to do nearby?

This is where the campsite comes into its own! The location is phenomenal. Here is out seven day itinerary of what we did around Lake Garda.

Facilities

Cover the practical things families want to know:

Wi-Fi: Free all over site and the best coverage we have had on any campsite. Superb.

Laundry: €4 for a wash and €4 for a dry, worked well, payment in cash but there is a change machine.

Parking: You could not park right next to our cabin, the streets were pedestrianised but you parked on the end. There was enough parking and an overfill if you were struggling, but we never did.

EV charging: Yes, free electric-car charging is available on site. Cars must be moved once charging is complete. We don’t however have an electric car!

Bike hire: I thought we would do this, but we genuinely ran out of time!

BBQs: Check your exact cabin to see if it is provided, but charcoal BBQs are allowed and we took our own.

Things to know before you book

⚠️ If we were to visit again, we would 100% check the map and pick a spot next to one of the many playgrounds dotted around. This would be quite a win, when you could sit at the cabin and the kids can go to the playground.
